High-Cannabidiol cannabis extracts can be used to treat epilepsy and other diseases

2013 has seen a significant increase in media attention on medicinal cannabis. Reports from CNN, ABC, CBS and other local publications have reported that high-cannabidiol cannabis oil is effective in controlling rare epileptic conditions such as Doose syndrome, Dravet syndrome, infantile spasms and cortical dysplasia. These diseases can cause thousands to millions of seizures each week and may also hinder development in other ways. The challenges for families with children who suffer from these conditions are immense. Due to the extremely complex nature of Dravet and related syndromes, traditional pharmaceuticals are ineffective and often make the problems worse. Family members have turned to high CBD cannabis oil for their only hope. This is showing remarkable results.

High-CBD cannabis extract is not psychoactive and appears to be more beneficial than high levels of THC. Cannabidiol can be found in cannabis plants as well as the more popular psychoactive THC. There is significant research showing neuroprotective and anticancer properties. Cannabidiol is also extracted from cannabis. Such oil contains large amounts of concentrated cannabinoids that can be orally ingested rather than smoked, preserving the medicinal compounds and allowing them to be delivered through digestive system, rather than the respiratory system.

The research suggests that CBD has panacea-like properties, and in practice, this is proving to be the case. Sanjay Gupta aired a CNN documentary in August 2013 about Charlotte Figi. Charlotte is a Dravet patient, who had 300 grand mal seizures every week. These seizures were so severe that no medication or diet changes could be made to lower them. Charlotte’s seizures stopped immediately after Charlotte was introduced to high-CBD marijuana oil by her parents. She has now experienced a minimum of three minor seizures per calendar month. This case is nothing short of miraculous, and it’s not isolated. Dr. Margaret Gedde is a Colorado Springs doctor who is following 11 new patients from the Stanely brothers. They are the ones responsible for Charlotte’s high-CBD medicine. Nine of them have experienced seizures that were reduced by 90-100%, which is again a miracle.

CBD has been shown to be very effective against epileptic conditions. Not even the most well-researched pharmaceuticals can induce healing. Yet high-CBD cannabis oil is immediately and potently reducing symptoms, with the only side effects being systemically beneficial – more energy, better learning, improved behavior, and more.

It should not be surprising that results like these have been going on for years. Research has shown that cannabinoids can be used to treat epilepsy and other serious conditions. In practice, these results translate to epilepsy and other conditions. For years, people have been successfully eliminating cancers and treating diseases such as diabetes, Crohn’s, fibromyalgia and heart disease. This is the most serious problem we face and must be given more attention.
